Our client, a busy freight forwarding company has a new vacancy within their general forwarding/brokerage department through expansion. The forwarding department of 4 is currently headed by a forwarding manager and we are ready to invest in a fifth person to strengthen a growing department.

Customer Service/Admin

All candidates should have experience in a customer focused role dealing with clients on the telephone as well as handling fundamental administrational tasks and knowledge on the basic essentials of general freight forwarding. For example, knowing terms of sale (Incoterms), relationships and responsibilities between buyer and seller and reasonable geographical knowledge ofEurope.

The role would consist of:

• Customer and supplier liaison

• Checking and passing of purchases invoices

• Following up quotations with existing clients

• Bench marking trailer prices to ensure we remain competitive

• Requesting of POD’s from suppliers

• Charging/invoicing of files

• Administrational duties

Other attributes we are looking are:

• Commercial awareness

• Going the extra mile

• Good telephone manner

• Evidence of problem solving skills

• High level of accuracy and detail of work

• Use of Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel - Excel being an important part
