Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:30 (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Additional: Office-based, occasional Saturdays and overtime as required

About the Role

Due to continued global growth, our client is seeking a Road Freight Operator to join their established team based in the Manchester area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with road freight experience to join a well-established, international logistics business, supporting both import and export operations while working closely with internal departments and overseas partners.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Road Freight import and export operations
• Support the Operations Supervisor in delivering efficient and profitable operations
• Complete all documentation accurately and within required timeframes
• Ensure correct invoicing, including duties and VAT in line with procedures
• Liaise with overseas offices, clients and internal teams
• Raise jobs, prepare quotations and manage shipment progress
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and internal departments
• Assist with audits, inspections and collections where required
• Support credit control with outstanding payments
• Monitor and follow up on late payments
• Ensure all operational and financial activities meet company procedures
• Maintain and update SOPs where required
• Identify and report new business leads to the sales team
• Ensure all reports and system updates are completed on time
• Provide cover for holidays and sickness when needed

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 1 year experience within Road Freight  operations
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• IT literate (Microsoft Office and operational systems)
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Administrative experience within a logistics environment preferred
