About the Role

Are you an experienced Road Freight Operator looking for your next step within a successful and well-established European logistics business?

Our client, a leading European trailer operator and freight forwarder based in St Albans, is looking for a Senior Road Freight Operations Co-ordinator to join their busy and knowledgeable operations team.

You will be working with UK and European manufacturers, importers and exporters, helping to organise the smooth movement of freight across Europe and the UK.

The company is part of a long-standing, family-owned logistics group.

What You'll Be Doing:

As the Senior Road Freight Operations Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in managing European and UK road freight movements from start to finish.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Organising road freight movements across Europe and the UK.
• Liaising with customers, suppliers, hauliers and internal departments.
• Providing clear and accurate written and verbal instructions.
• Negotiating with customers and suppliers to achieve cost-effective and profitable solutions.
• Building strong relationships with clients through regular communication and excellent service.
• Processing customer orders through the company's in-house operating system.
• Preparing customs documentation for freight moving into and out of Europe.
• Ensuring internal procedures are followed correctly.
• Supporting a busy, experienced and highly knowledgeable logistics team.
• Identifying opportunities to improve service levels, increase turnover and maximise profitability.

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a confident, commercially aware and customer-focused freight professional who enjoys working in a busy European road freight environment.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience within European road freight, trailer operations, freight forwarding or logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of UK and European freight movements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A professional, positive and helpful approach.
• Strong negotiation skills and good commercial awareness.
• The ability to build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude.
• Experience with customs documentation would be advantageous.
