HGV Class 1 Driver

Salary: £39,000 + Performance Based Bonus

Location: Essex, RM20.

Having recently expanded their fleet, our client, a logistics solutions provider are currently looking for an experienced HGV Class Driver to join  their team based in Essex.

This is a full-time permanent position working an average of 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, over shift patterns, so is ideal for someone who values evenings and weekends at home.

What you'll do:

As HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for driving company vehicles ensuring compliance with driver restrictions relating to driver CPC holders.

HGV Class 1 Driver duties include:

• Driving company vehicles; ensuring that vehicles are roadworthy, keeping the cab tidy and for returning the vehicle to the fleet at the end of the day clean and tidy and with adequate fuel.
• Operating curtain sided trailers and container skellie trailers using a modern artic unit
• Curtain sided sweeps from Felixstowe depots back to the yard in West Thurrock and can be multi drop on return route.
• Container work out of London Gateway, Southampton and Felixstowe ports.
• Planning with excellence, and delivering with care.
• Ensuring you present in a professional manner at all times.
• Adhering to company policy on driver and vehicle safety.

What you need:

We're keen to speak to Class 1 / Cat C + E licence holders who have 2+ years' experience driving HGVs. 

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Cat C+E) licence required
• Current Driver CPC Qualification card
• Previous experience in multidrop and a good knowledge of local area would be advantageous
• Previous container experience would again also be an advantage, but is not essential - training and port cards can be obtained once started.
