EU Road Freight Business Development Manager

Salary: Circa £55,000 + Commission

Location: Suffolk

Our client, a leading independently owned Freight Company specialising in European Logistics and Roadfreight solutions is currently seeking a Business Development Manager to lead their team in Suffolk.

What you’ll do:

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the sales team, setting targets and leading direction, whilst being hands-on with developing old clients, relatively new clients as well as developing relationships with new clients and generate new business opportunities. 

Core duties include:

• Lead the sales team in identifying and developing new sales leads
• Preparing, delivering, and following up quotations and leads
• Prospecting new opportunities for the assigned facilities and / or markets leveraging cold calling techniques
• Attending client visits, trade shows and networking events
• Being involved in monthly meetings with Managers in relation to Budget, and GP.

What you need:

The successful Business Development Executive will ideally have 2 years’ experience within road freight and will understand the logistics industry.

Having excellent communication and customer service skills is essential, as are leadership qualities.

Key Requirements:

• Understanding of the logistics / freight sector in general.
• Business to Business (B2B) sales experience, particularly in road freight sales.
• Determined and results orientated attitude
• Able to lead and direct a motivated team
